Animated tiles

Hello,

I bought some assets and they include animated ones.
I added them in Tiled and it does not work when I run my game.

I wonder if

For performance reasons, the tiles must be aligned on the same X axis and the distance between the tiles must be equivalent

might be the source of the issue because the tileset looks like this:

and animated tiles are on the same X-axis, but the main tile is on the other X-axis.

Is it possible to make it work without editing probably 100+ images? 🙈

this is a limitation of the pixi-tilemap library (https://github.com/pixijs/tilemap).

You can't make animations with tiles that aren't on the same line

Hello,
I edited the image.

Now animation is on the same X axis but it still does not work.

When I set up animation for these 15 tiles then it works:
15 tile animation

but when I want to add 16 tiles to the animation like this:

Then it does not work.

I suppose that they must be alongside, but it does not make sense so much.
As you can see I have only animated borders of this terrain, my tileset would look like this:

It's way harder to organize. Is that a limitation from Pixi too?

Damn, you are right, I even pointed this text in main sub. I focused on the same X axis and didn't read this text next time when it didn't worked.

In fact, the patterns have to repeat on the same X, like this tileset:

Editing these images was a pain in the ass for me, so I made a tool for that 😄
It is very simple and probably has a lot of bugs currently, but if any of you struggle with this issue feel free to check this out:

You have to clone these two repositories (backend & frontend):

git clone https://github.com/dominx99/pixi-animations
git clone https://github.com/dominx99/pixi-animations-backend

and then in both of them.

make init
make up

Next, you can go to browser: http://10.200.31.6/ and play with your tilesets.
